    Sorry that this is in English but I need help to get my Tele2 mail account into my new iPhone (Telia)
    Could get no help from either Telia or Tele2 technical support.

    Thought I had done everything but it still does not work and I am not the worlds expert on techie things. For me in needs to be step for step

    Is there anyone on the forum who could kindly guide me through this ?

    Thanks in advance

    Hey! Nice with some internationalizasion 😛

    Where in the setup do you fail? Or can you set it up, and then it doesnt work? Do you get any error-message, if yes, what does it say?

    Assuming you already have an email account with Tele2, when configuring your iPhone for use with this you need to ensure you specify mail.tele2.se as the POP-server (server for incoming email) and smtprelay1.telia.com as SMTP-server

    Do let us know where on the process you fail and we’ll walk you through this

    Hej Bozz
    Thanks for the quick response
    Message I get is “The user name or password for michael.cartwright@tele2.se is incorrct “
    User nam in settings on the iphone is what the “helpdesk” at Tele2 said and the password is the same as I use to administer the mail account

    Thanks again

    Hej
    Thanks I tried the smtprelay1.telia.com and got the response when going into mail “The connection to the server mail.tele2.se failed”

    I will go through exactly what I have to see if this makes sense

    Settings – Mail,contacts,calender
    Accounts – michael.cartwright@tele2.se (ON)

    POP Account Information
    Name = Michael Cartwright
    Address = michael.cartwright@tele2.se
    Description = michael.catwright@tele2.se

    Incoming Mail Server

    Host Name = mail.tele2.se
    User Name = kontonamn at Tele2
    Password = Password used to administer the mail account at Tele2 ( using MS Outlook )

    Outgoing Mail Server
    SMTP =smtprelay1.telia.com

    Advanced
    Deleted Messages
    Remove = Never

    Incoming Settings
    Use SSL = OFF
    Authentication = Password
    Delete From Server = Never
    Server Port = 587

    Thats it hope this helps

    Thanks again

    Mike, the fact that you can’t even connect to mail.tele2.se is strange. Can you open mail.tele2.se in Safari on your phone?

    User Name = kontonamn at Tele2

    kontonamn, is that your email address or a tele2 username?

    Have you been asked by tele2 Helpdesk to activate your email for use om a cell phone?

    Hej igen

    Now its getting interesting

    Answer to questions

    Yes I can go in to my account using SAFARI but it takes me to Tele2 webmail. I use MS outlook on the PC but these are old mails.
    Kontonamn is a tele2 username. when I contacted Tele2 helpdesk they recommended this but they had no real experience so were not sure. It previously had my email address in that field.
    I asked Tele2 Hepdesk for ” Help” but not that specific question. The said as they do not sell iPhone they do not support it.

    Are we getting somewhere ???

    Well, in terms of getting somewhere I guess the answer would have to be no. They don’t need to support iPhone per se, egen you try and connect to mail.tele2.se this phone is just like any dumb terminal asking the server for mail… You have the address and the port # and that should really be sufficient. Let me ponder a bit, will get back to you

    Mike, I’ve spent some time looking for solutions but it turns out very few seem to have even tried this Telia/Tele2 combo, let alone report issues with it.

    One possible fix is to try an alternative email app on your iPhone; https://www.iphoneinfo.se/forum/allt-om-iphone/6214-ibismail.html

    another would be to abandon Tele2 alltogether or forward your mail automatically to another account that works on your iPhone. Sorry :-/

    Hej
    I’m vey gratful for your help in this

    Tele2 is the bredband supplier and telephone supplir as it is also used by my wifes business and mobiles etc ( except mine ) so it is a little complicated to ditch them

    Another question then as with these techie issues I am totally lost.

    If I use Tele2 as the supplier of bredband service can I go direct to another supplier of mail i.e hotmail etc and then phase out the Tele2 mail ( I have Tele2 mail as the default when I log into some sites.
    Easies solution

    Once again thanks for your help. very much appreciated

    Good choice Mike. Not finding a solution to this is frustrating but some things are best just to put to rest…
